Enablement Can't Coach What It Can't See

Roderick Jefferson

Most sales organizations have never had better visibility into rep conversations. Call recordings, AI-generated summaries, objection libraries, talk-track scoring; if a rep stumbles through a qualification question or fumbles a competitor objection, there is a system to catch it, flag it, and coach around it.

But the moment that same rep opens a quoting tool, visibility disappears.

You don't know what they proposed. You don't know where they discounted, which products they bundled, or whether the deal they built aligns with your company's sales strategy. Most teams only find out later, in approvals, pipeline reviews, or, worse, at renewal, when the deal has already gone sideways. That is where an Enablement problem becomes a RevOps problem!

Here's The Blind Spot Nobody Talks About

When pricing rules live in spreadsheets, approvals happen in Slack, and reps build deals however they see fit, every seller starts creating their own version of your go-to-market strategy.

Enablement owns messaging and coaching. RevOps owns pricing and approvals. But if those two functions are not connected within the quoting process, neither team has a clear picture of how deals are being built. They operate on different data sets and draw different conclusions about the same reps, pipeline, and quarter.

The result is coaching that is both incomplete and reactive. You surface a pattern after the quarter closes, rather than while the deals are still active.

What Changes When Quoting Becomes a Coaching Surface

When pricing guidance, bundles, and approvals are built directly into the quoting workflow, something shifts. Every deal becomes a data point that Enablement can learn from.

Think about what that means for your next QBR. Instead of coaching based on call recordings alone, revenue leaders can measure execution quality alongside conversation quality — win rates by bundle type, discounting by rep cohort, approval frequency by manager, and playbook adherence by deal size. Coaching stops being anecdotal. It becomes measurable.

Guided selling playbooks in DealHub AI not only help reps build quotes faster. They also show revenue teams how reps are selling:

  • Which bundles are used most often, and which are consistently ignored
  • Where discounting is happening, and at what stage
  • Which reps are regularly requesting approval exceptions
  • Where deals are going off-path from the intended sales motion

Add buyer engagement data, including proposal views and stakeholder activity, so Enablement and RevOps are finally looking at the same picture of the deal. Not two different views of the same rep. The same view.

Coaching stops being a retrospective exercise. It becomes a way to identify patterns while there is still time to act on them.

The Question Most Enablement Leaders Cannot Answer

Pull up some of your bottom-performing reps from last quarter. You probably know what their discovery calls sounded like. You have the recordings, AI summaries, and scoring data.

But do you know what their quotes looked like? What they bundled, what they discounted, what they left out entirely, and how often they needed approval to get deals across the line?

If you can answer the first question but not the second, you are coaching only half of the sales process.

Your Blind Spots Are Costing Your Company More Than You May Realize

Most enablement teams can pull up a rep's last five discovery calls in minutes. Ask those same teams to show you what that rep quoted last quarter, what they discounted, and how many approval exceptions they needed, and you'll get silence.

That gap is not a technology problem. It is a process problem. And it starts the moment quoting becomes something that happens outside of your visibility.

DealHub AI was built to close that gap. Guided selling playbooks embed your pricing strategy, bundle logic, and approval rules directly into the quoting workflow, so reps are not improvising deals in isolation. Every quote becomes structured data your team can learn from.

For Enablement teams, that means a coaching surface that extends beyond the call. For RevOps teams, that means deal data that is consistent, auditable, and tied to outcomes.

Trust Yet Verify

Select one rep from your bottom quartile last quarter. Request their last three quotes. Note what they bundled, where they discounted, and whether the deal structure aligned with your go-to-market strategy. If you cannot obtain that information in under ten minutes, your quoting process is working against your coaching strategy.
